Topic: Network Design Issues for Cloud Data Centers

Abstract:

A cloud data center is one that is meant to support many virtual data centers each of which

is owned by a distinct administrative entity.

Manageability, availability, security and scalability are the main design issues for such data

centers. Accordingly, these considerations impose new requirements on a cloud data center

network's architecture and implementation. In this talk, I will describe the current thinking behind

cloud data center network design, and illustrate the technical challenges and possible solutions

using the experiences gleaned from ITRI's Container Computer 1.0 project.
