    Jeans Tseng oversees Lanner's business for worldwide service provider market. He leads the development of vCPE benchmarking; NFV and 5G/LTE Edge Computing PoC with more than 30 CoSP and SDN/NFV eco systems partners including AT&T, Verizon, NTT Lab. etc..
    Jeans has over 30 years experience in sales and technical management in IT, Networking, and Telecom industries. Prior to Lanner, he was with Alcatel-Lucent from 1999-2012 as General Manager of Taiwan Branch, VP of sales in Alcatel-TAISEL and President of Taiwan Alcatel Technology Co. Ltd.. Prior to that, he was with Xylan Corp. as country General Manager, D-Link and Siemens Telecommunication Systems as Director of the R&D Center and software engineer. 
    Jeans received his bachelor degree from National Taiwan Ocean University in 1990 and MBA from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in 2011. He also attended innovation management programs in INSEAD and UC Berkeley. He wrote six books in related to LAN/WAN Integration and developed three books for Network Planner's Training Course in 1990s.

  • 大綱:
    Service providers have already begun to promote 5G, even though 5G is still only trickling into the market with limited use cases deployed. Two big successes in the 4G era were SD-WAN and vCPE triggered by virtualization, i.e., specifically SDN and NFV, respectively. SD-WAN ensures various types of traffic steered to appropriate links automatically, while vCPE integrates and manages various access services onto a single CPE. 5G and its Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) could magnify these two successes by pushing edge computing onto SD-WAN, to provide additional network functions that require computing, and also vCPE to be elevated to uCPE with universal communication, as well as computing, services provided at the consumer side. In this talk, we argue the above evolution driven by 5G and MEC, and describe what Lanner has been working with tier-1 CoSPs in USA to enable the successes on enterprise SD-WAN and uCPE.
