Mr. Michael J. Chang is currently holding the position of Director of Engineering at Microsoft Asia Science and Technology Center, Microsoft. Mr. Chang is the product owner of PowerPoint Online and is leading the engineering team of 75 engineers to participate the Office Online development efforts with engineering teams in Redmond, WA, Mountain View, CA, Boston, MA, and Tel Aviv, Israel. On top of his Office Online development charter, Mr. Chang also drives the China Incubation engineering efforts in Office Product Group. This unique team is experimenting the new Mobile Productivity Scenarios with WeChat and other mobile conversation platforms.
Graduated from State University of New York at Stony Brook with Master of Science in 1996, Mr. Chang joined Microsoft Corp, Redmond, WA in 1997 as Campus Hire。Though he later relocated to Microsoft Taiwan in 2004 and Microsoft China in 2012, his career has always been within Office Product Family, from Win32 clients, to Service Products, and to Online Services. He has been working on Project, Word, OneNote, Office Shared Engineering, SharePoint, Exchange, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Office365 Cloud Service Management, Office Big Data, Office Extensibility, and Office Online.
As a senior Engineering Leader and 20 years of veteran in the corporation and Microsoft Office, Mr. Chang is also a Microsoft certified As-Appropriate Interviewer. He drives recruiting efforts in Greater China Region. Mr. Chang is invited by many world-class companies in the region to speak and consult their engineering and technology evolution efforts on behalf of Microsoft. In his spare time, he also teaches EMRD (Executive Master of Research and Development) post graduate program in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as professional adjunct faculty. His expertise is in large scale Software Project Management, Software Development and Process, Software Automation, Online Services Product Development and Management, and Management Excellence.
